In India, medical leadership has traditionally been hierarchical, with roles assumed based on seniority or rotation, leading to gaps between existing and required competencies. To address this, HSTP, in collaboration with Athulya Performance Facilitators, developed the CIP training program. This results-based initiative focuses on aligning individual and organizational goals through real-life coaching, aiming to support state health transformation through training, coach development, and knowledge transfer.HSTP has trained medical officers in leadership roles at district and subdistrict levels, with plans to develop them as coaches to mentor future batches. The first batch of mentors is set to begin. HSTP, in collaboration with SHRC, is working to internalize the coaching program and enhance management leadership curriculum with training institutions.
