The communication team at HSTP is dedicated to enhancing the understanding and visibility of Home Healthcare (HHC) in India. As HHC gains momentum due to a growing elderly population, increased chronic conditions, and the impacts of COVID-19, the need for clear communication on its structure and delivery is more pressing than ever.
HSTP's report, "Regulation of Health Care Delivery in India – A Landscape Study,"https://www.hstp.org.in/kc/regulation-of-health-care-delivery-in-india--a-landscape-study sheds light on the lack of clarity surrounding HHC's organization and regulatory framework.
This prompted us to dive deeper into the sector through an exploratory study, which confirmed the rising demand for HHC services, especially among older populations while exposing inconsistencies in service quality and organization.
Recognizing the gaps in awareness and understanding, we have developed targeted advocacy and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials. These resources are designed to offer users and providers clear guidance, promote standardization for better service quality, and highlight policy recommendations.
By focusing on the rights and responsibilities of all stakeholders, we aim to drive informed decisions, elevate the standard of care, and support the sector’s growth in a more regulated, efficient manner. Through these efforts, HSTP seeks to ensure that HHC becomes a well-regulated, accessible, and sustainable option for India's evolving healthcare needs.
