As societies age, the dependency ratio rises, limiting their ability to address the needs of an aging population. Aging issues receive limited attention in the Indian Constitution, primarily addressed in Directive Principles. Although policies like the National Health Policy 2017 and others acknowledge senior citizens' health, government programs remain insufficient. Despite this, they represent a positive start that could pave the way for more comprehensive future responses.
