Health Systems Transformation Platform (HSTP) generates and utilizes evidence on health policy and systems for informed policymaking. We analyze the healthcare system, identify improvement opportunities, propose solutions to state governments, support implementation, and validate through research.

HSTP, a recipient of the India Management Research Initiative (IRMI) Research Management (RM) Fellowship supported by DBT/Wellcome Trust presented a poster titled, `Strengthening Research Management and Institutional Capacities at HSTP for Driving Evidence-Based Health Policies in India' at the recently concluded India Alliance Annual Conclave 2024 held from 28th August-30th August, 2024 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

The IRMI RM Fellowship, awarded in April 2022 and launched in January 2023, has advanced research management for HSTP throughout the 2022-24 period. The poster mainly highlighted the achievements that involved supporting 58 mid-career researchers of the India Health Policy & Systems Research (HPSR) fellowship, with ongoing support for Cohort 3. The HPSR governance mechanisms monitored 33 research proposals and ensured compliance through contract negotiations and ethics management. There was also a peripheral engagement with other researchers in HSTP to develop policy notes on the Indian health system from ongoing research at HSTP.

A digital research data management system has been implemented and is expected to be fully operational by the third year. HSTP has also forged key partnerships with several academic institutions and state governments, strengthening the health system. Achievements include the creation of a research management dashboard, an Excel-based funding directory, and the launch of ‘The Transformation Tracker’ newsletter, along with providing regular social media updates on research and organizational developments.
